Seller Description
Paradise Lost by John Milton, printed by The Easton Press in 1976. The following is from the listing on the Easton Press website: - Fully bound in genuine leather. - 22kt gold deeply inlaid on the “hubbed” spine. - Superbly printed on acid-neutral paper that lasts for generations. - Sewn pages – not just glued like ordinary books. - Satin-ribbon page marker. - Gilded page ends. - Bound in the USA. Imported materials. - Rigorous inspection at every stage ensures adherence to our exacting standards. - Superb craftsmanship and commitment to quality. The cover is an orangey brown. There is fading on and around the spine from sun damage. It is very difficult to photograph, but the leather fades to a lighter brown near the spine and on the spine itself. There is some scratching on the gilded edge of the pages, and it has collected dust along the top pages near the ribbon from sitting on a shelf. I have not tried to clean it as I didn't want to damage the pages. There is a book plate stuck in the pages that has left a shadow (see photos). There are also a few pages that have staining near the spine. It almost looks like water damage but isn't consistent through the pages to be that. It is not perfect, but is still in really great shape and would be the perfect addition to any personal library!#eastonpress#classic#classics#hardback#fiction#vintage
