Seller Description
This copy is a reprint of the 1948 edition. It’s in excellent condition. The dust jacket has some shelf wear and there is a dedication inside the front cover. The St. Nicholas Anthology is not, as you may suppose at first glance, related to Christmas in any way. It contains a collection of stories, poems, and drawings from The St. Nicholas Magazine, which was the premiere children’s magazine in the late 1800s until 1941. Some of the notable names that contributed to the stories collected in this book are Mark Twain, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Jack London, Eudora Welty, Theodore Roosevelt, Henry Longfellow, Rudyard Kipling, and Louisa May Alcott. Plus many more that our grandparents probably knew.
