New, never read (listened to the audio instead). Hardcover has a slight flare to it (shown in photos). I purchased it new like this and every copy on the shelf was like that. My guess is it happened in manufacturing when the book was pressed into the machine. Otherwise in perfect condition - all edges, printed cover, and end papers are shown in photos.
